The Buzz about Media
No country in this world can claim to be a true democracy without an independent media. A free and fair media, which includes newspapers, TV and radio stations and the marvel of the modern age, namely the internet, functions as one of the pillars of modern democratic society. It shares the burdens of the people and tries to elevate them from being petty ignorant masses by disseminating vital information throughout the country, if not the world. Though held in high esteem by the world in general, the media has come in for its fair share of criticism as well - the primary one being 'indulging in sensationalism'.
