Dogs are generally the most favorite companion among the pet lovers. The Dog is basically a domesticated subspecies of wolf, and it is a carnivore type. Dogs can be ferocious else friendly, it depends on the way it is being developed. There are various breeds of dogs like the Retrievers, German Shepard, Pointers, Great dane, Dachshund and much more. To be precise there are about 800 dog breeds worldwide. The size of the dogs varies from few inches to few feet. Dogs are generally nurtured for various purposes like sniffing, watching, hunting or simply just play dogs.
Like most mammals the dogs are Dichromats and have colour vision equivalent to red-green color blindness in humans. Sighthounds is a dog breed, which has field vision of upto 270 degrees. Dogs can detect sounds as low as (16-20)Hz and also above 45 KHz. Dogs have nearly 220 million smell-sensitive cells. Generally dogs are highly intelligent and are social animals.
