Strange statistics

The whole world is fighting to bring down the crime rate and in spite of that it is soaring. The entire police network is bringing new measures to contain the crime. The result is not encouraging though. The scene is different in Singapore. The number of prisoners fell to a 10 year low of 11,768 last year. Singapore has some of the Stiffest penalties for crime in the world including lashes and death sentence for drug offenses. This resulted in halting the construction of two of the four prison complexes costing 1 billion dollar.the number of prisons have remained the same or have increased in the other Asian countries.Anyway for Singapore it is a welcome trend. Singapore has shown great development in all fields from tourism to crime rate reduction.
