Producer Kathiresan of Pollathavan had signed Shriya to be Dhanush's heroine in a film to be directed by Vetrimaran, which was to start in April. But at the last minute, the launch was delayed as Vetri had not completed the script and Dhanush had started his new film Padikkathavan. Kathiresan informed her that his film with Vetri will start only after Dhanush completes Padikkathavan and Arya remake for Gemini Film Circuit.
